Provisional Government agrees on new constitution

The Imperial Provisional Government has agreed upon a new constitution after a month of debate. In a historic decision, the Imperial Provisional Government has voted 5 to 1 to replace the Austrovian Constitution of 2017 with the new Austrovian Constitution of 2019, written by His Majesty, the Emperor, and Head of the Provisional Government Rosetta Gland.

"The new Austrovian constitution will provide the change this country desperately needs." said Gland after the passage of her new constitution.

Like the 2017 constitution, the 2019 constitution ensures every right and freedom a citizen has. However, unlike the 2017 constitution, the 2019 constitution adds more protection to the monarchy and slightly expands its executive power. The Monarch can now veto any law passed by the legislature without the worry of retaliation and create and give noble titles to anyone he or she pleases. The new constitution also creates a new national legislature, called the Imperial Diet. The Imperial Diet will consist of two houses, the Council of State and the House of Representatives.

The Austrovian Constitution of 2019 will officially replace the 2017 constitution on September 5th, 2019.
