The 2nd Federal Election has resulted in a tie between National Populist Daisy Drake and Democrat Reginald Smith. This is the first time an election of this scale has resulted in a tie in Austrovian history. This result may cause a secondary election to occur, but both parties do not want another election.
This has caused confusion since the only alternative is to form a governing coalition. This is unlikely though, due to the National Populists and Democrats long rivalry. Although a coalition is uncertain, some are hopeful.
"Hopefully the parties can settle their differences and come together and unite for the country," says Rosetta Gland.
The Emperor has given the parties a week to decide, which should be more than enough time. The Emperor has also allowed Reich Chancellor Speed to retain her position until the problem is solved.
