Today (January 15th) was the deadline for each party to vote on their candidates for the upcoming Federal Election. Each election was very surprising to say the least.

For the National Populist Party, former Reich Chancellor Daisy Drake won the primary, winning 60% of the eligible votes. She claimed most of her inactivity during her time as Reich Chancellor was due to the fact that she was an acting leader, so she had no powers. She promised to be an active leader, in which the National Populist's believed.

Reginald Smith, former King of the United Kingdom of America, won overwhelmingly for the Democratic ticket, winning 92% of eligible votes. He defeated chairwoman and former candidate Rosetta Gland, who fellow Democrats say is a "radical". This may be true, since she has constantly wished for a union with more leftist parties, like the Socialists and even the Communist and Socialists. Smith has promised to bring life back to the Democratic Party and pass more progressive bills in the Reichstag.

To everyone's surprise, Seterah Speed, Reich Chancellor and Traditionalist founder and leader, announced that she would not run for reelection. She instead endorsed her protege and Vice Chancellor, Cesar Gomez. Gomez won 100% person of the vote since he was the only candidate. Gomez said he would like to preserve the laws passed under the reign of his mentor.

The Freedom Party elected General Gabe Griffins, who was supported by party leader Emily Drake. Griffins, who commands the 1st Defense Division, has served in many conflicts in the Etiwanda Micronational Sector's history. He fought in the Great Pugnasian Civil War, the New Pugnasian-Hardcourtian War, the Lawson Insurgency, and the Pacification of the Fascist Republic of Wyden. He has promised to install a new lower house in the Reichstag, which he says will be called the House of Representatives.

The Communist and Socialists elected their leader, Anthony Easton, as their candidate, which was an obvious choice. He has been the party's charismatic leader since it's founding. Easton said he will keep the policies he hoped for last election, instead of abolishing the monarchy, which he said was already ingrained into Austrovian society. He still promises to abolish the Reichstag in favor of a Worker's Council.

The small parties, which are the Christian Democrats, Austrovian League of Fascists, and Justice, have all elected their leader as their candidates. Diego Drake, husband of Daisy Drake, promises to create a more Christian democracy, appointing pro-Catholic judges to the new Federal Court. Marissa Evan, leader of the ALF or AUF, promises to create a more militarized and nationalistic society, while keeping democracy. And Johnathan Ly, leader of the Justice Party, promises to create a new branch of government, called the Social Justice Watch Council, which will make sure each citizen has a right to social justice and will fight injustices of modern society.

The Emperor announced after the results were published that the first Federal Debate will be on January 24th, and all candidates are invited. The Observer will for sure have a full transcript of the debate.
