February Reichstag Election, what to expect

With the latest Reichstag Election coming up, many people wonder what the outcome may be. Last election, back in December, was a big surprise for most citizens. Before the Traditionalists came into the election, the National Populists were expected to win with the Majority in the Reichstag, or Congress as it was called, and the Chancellorship. But, Seterah Speed, defied expectations, winning the Chancellorship, becoming the first elected Reich Chancellor. Sadly though, she was not able to win the majority in the Reichstag, resulting in a minority government.

Although still being new, the Traditionalists are expected to grow by February and win more seats by the sixteenth. But, they are also expected to not gain a majority. Many unregistered centrist are joining the Traditionalist, seeing the problems in the Democrats and National Populists.

The National Populists, on the other hand, are expected to lose this election. Currently they are in a civil war. Since Lee's defeat in December, many n the party have called for a new leadership election. Lee, reluctant at first, agreed to their calls, only splitting the party further. Many Social Conservatives are supporting Lee's reelection, while many Right-Wing Populists support his former partner, Ryan Lee. The Leadership Election will take place on January 8th, with Travis is expected to win, which might make his opponents turn to the Freedom Party, lead by Emily Drake.

The Democrats are also expect to lose, but only by a little. Like their opposite, the Democrats are also split. The current chair, Rosetta Gland, has propose uniting the party with the Socialists, creating a leftists front. Her deputy and leader of the People's Coalition, Hannah Garcia and other members oppose this idea, hoping to attract more centrists to the party. Unlike the National Populists, Gland will not allow a leadership election until after the Reichstag Election.

The Communist and Socialists are expected to gain or lose nothing. Their leader, Anthony Easton, is popular among citizens residing in his home district of Etiwanda 5, but that's about it. Since his views are radical, he's party is no expected to win any new seats any where else.

The Freedom Party is expected to win some seats this election. The party is completely united under Emily Drake, with her only threat, Christopher Easton, younger brother of Anthony Easton, not old enough to run for any national post.

The election will take place on February 16th, 2017. Early Voting will be on February 14th for reserved citizens.
