Gland announces re-election campaign

“My time as Chancellor is not at an end.” said Rosetta Gland yesterday night, officially declaring her candidacy for the Chancellery. This comes after rumors of her possibly declining to run again, due to poor election record.

Chancellor Gland promises to continue to help the Imperial Diet and the Emperor rebuild the nation after serious inactivity. In her statement, Chancellor Gland also claimed that her support of centrist policies prove her appeal with moderate Liberals and Conservatives. Currently, Gland is leading her fellow Liberal opponent, Jayden Hyde, by twenty nine points (71.4% to 42.9%), almost guaranteeing her spot as the Liberal nominee.

On the Conservative side, former Reichstag Member Connor Pittman leads political campaigner Trey Miller by twenty points (60% to 40%). Pittman, who was founder and chair of the National Party, is considered by many to be Gland’s toughest challenge, due to his opposition to many of her proposed policies. “If Gland is re-elected Chancellor, then I can guarantee this nation will fall into inactivity once again”. Pittman is polling high with members of the liberal conservative wing of the old National Democratic Populist Party, despite claiming to be a ‘hardline conservative’.

Both Conservative and Liberal parties are holding their primary election on September 15th.
